Full Description
[TR 28234675] EARTHWORK [G.T.] (1) Three-sided earthwork (north-west side missing) discovered by Crawford 9-SEP-1932. Flints protruding from bank suggest Medieval date (wall?) (2) A rectangular enclosure bounded by a bank 3.5m wide, 0.5m high, with a gap in the NW side, and an outside ditch on the SE side. There are tree stumps along the banks. There is no building material visible within the enclosure. Chapel Carvett, 300.0m to the NE, is similarly enclosed and N of it is a further stronger banked enclosure. Both were formerly wooded, and the feature in question is most probably an old woodland boundary bank. (3-4)
