Summary

Three Saxon spearheads, a knife and fragments of a shield-boss were found at Eythorne in 1828. These possibly indicate the site of an inhumation.

Full Description

Anglo-Saxon objects (including three spearheads, part of a knife, and fragments of shield bosses) dug up at Eythorne were presented in 1828 by Mr W.H Weeks to the Museum of Canterbury Philosophical and Literary Institute, predecessor of the Beaney Institute and Royal Museum, Canterbury. The above finds cannot be located at the Royal Museum, but may be in store. No record is held concerning them. (1)
