Full Description

(TR 2207 5866) P.O. [NAT] (1) The Post Office, The Green, Wickhambreaux. Grade II*. C16 or earlier. Two storeys, faced with chequer work of stone and flints. Two small 2-storeyed projections surmounted by crow-stepped red brick gables, of which the W one contains the porch on the ground floor. Crow-stepped gable ends E and W with 2 chimney breasts to each of these walls, the E ones of red brick, the W ones of flint. One C16 window of 2 cinquefoil-headed lights. One other casement window. Four sashes with glazing bars intact. Modern shop window built out to the W of the W projections. The interior contains two stone fireplaces. (2) Additional bibliography. (3)
