Full Description

Large, faint rectilinear enclosure near four ring ditches which lie on either side of Love Lane. (1)

New photography taken July 16th 2001shows an arrangement of linear features resembling a system of field boundaries. The enclosure is very faint, but appears to share the same broad alignment although at least one of the linear boundaries cuts across it. Of the four ring ditches mentioned, the closest has already been recorded as TR 25 SW 22 from earlier photographs. The next, at TR 23745460, is circa 20 metres in diameter but does not show as a cropmark on the 2001 photographs. A little further south, at TR 23735455, the third ring ditch is circa 17 metres in diameter, these three effectively lying in a north-south line and closely spaced. The fourth is some distance to the west, at TR 23585472. On the 2001 photographs it is an elongated D-shape, aligned nw-se, measuring 15 metres by 9 metres. An east-west linear feature, presumably one of the aforementioned field boundaries, appears to terminate on its eastern side. (2)
