Full Description
Complex of World War One practice trenches and World War Two defences (further to the south east) superimposed on a series of earlier trackways and linear features (see TR 25 SW 98), including a barrow, no 7 on OS Field Sheet. (1,2 and HER officer officer observations).
The World War One Practice trenches showed up particularly well on the Google Earth image of 2nd May 2007. Two sets of opposing trench systems could be clearly seen, with frontline crenallated trenches and communication trenches to the rear. There appears to be a 'No Man's Land' between the two sets of trenching. (3)
