Full Description

[TQ 5891 6011.] A Neolithic celt, burnt matter, and fragments of Roman pottery, including the rim of a mortarium, were found in one of several pot holes discovered during the construction of the reservoir on Terry's Lodge Hill. [Sited from O.S. 6" 1910.] (1-2) Enquiries of the Mid-Kent Water Board were negative concerning these finds. The reservoir was reconstructed in the 1930's on a new site a little to the W of the old one which was demolished at the same time. (3)

2015 Volunteer Project suggested that TQ 56 SE 5 corresponds to NWK-6, No. 53 + 54 from the Southern Rivers Palaeolithic Project.
