A Claudian thistle brooch was reportedly found in Sarre in c.1946. The object is thought to be held in a private collection and as such no further information about it, or its discovery, was available. The find was reported in Archaeologica Cantiana in 1946. The precise findspot is uncertain.

Full Description

[Marginal] A Claudian thistle brooch (see illus) found at Sarre, is inthe collection of E J W Hildyard. It had previously been in the collection of Dr A Relph. (1) E.J. Hildyard is not a local man and no further information on this brooch was obtained. (2)
