Full Description
Round cornered rectilinear enclosure at TR 29766525, ring ditch at 29836525, rectilinear features at TR 29556523, 29636522, area feature and linear feature at TR 29616528, oval pit at TR 29686516. (1)
A rectilinear enclosure of Later Prehistoric date (described above at at TR 29766524,) was seen as a cropmark and was mapped from Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 14-APR-2015 and mapped as part of the Historic England Thanet Landscape Mapping Project 2024. The enclosure measures 45.5m W-E x 39.6m N-S The southern side is straight with a thinner straight inner ditch. The northern side is convex with curved NW and NE corners. The SW and SE corners are slightly curved. There appears to be an entrance in the eastern side defined by a slight inturning of the enclosure ditch.
A large ring ditch lies 29m to the east. This is now described separately in MKE 126146. Linear ditches to the west of the rectilinear enclosure appear to be continuous with features to the north and have been in cluded in TR 26 NE 55. (2)
