Full Description

Fragments of two possible rectilinear enclosures. (1) Photographs (2-7)

Cropmarks of a fragmented rectilinear ditched enclosure of uncertain date (possibly Roman or medieval) with traces of internal and external parallel ditches can be seen on aerial photographs (Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 25-MAY-2012 and HEA 29755/25 29-JUN-2015). Only the northern and NE half of this enclosure can be seen. Immediately to the north of this enclosure is a pair of perpendicular ditches, possibly the southern corner of a second enclosure, also of uncertain date. These features were mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024 (8-9).
