Summary

Romano-British cremation burials were discovered at this site in 1978. The remains of a Poppyhead beaker, Samian, Upchurch and Black Burnished Wares were found. The pottery assemblage was typical of the 2nd century AD. It is possible that these burials are associated with the nearby building remains which were uncovered during trenching in the 1980s. Full Description

c. TR 270677. Romano-British cremation burials were discovered at this site in 1978. The remains of a Poppyhead beaker, Samian, Upchurch and Black Burnished Wares were found. The pottery assemblage was typical of the 2nd century AD. It is possible that these burials are associated with the nearby building remains which were uncovered during trenching in the 1980s. .
