Monument record TR 26 NE 121 - Romano-British burial, St. Nicholas at Wade parish

Summary

A Romano-British inhumation burial was exposed by wave action in 1986. The incomplete skeleton was orientated north-south. A number of pottery sherds were also found including a rim sherd from a red colour-coated New Forest ware mortarium dating to the 3rd-4th century. There were also rim sherds of a black burnished II type flagon or urn and possible fragments of roofing tile (tegulae).
