Findspot record TR 26 NE 125 - Bronze Age pottery, Monkton

Summary

During the cutting of a trench for a water pipeline in 1987 late Bronze Age and early Iron Age pottery was reportedly discovered in a series of pits and ditches. This monument is recorded in the Isle of Thanet Sites and Monuments Archive. The pottery was identified as of Deverel-Rimbury type, which is the name given to flint-tempered pottery normally dating to the middle Bronze Age. It is thus uncertain whether this assemblage in fact dates to the middle or late Bronze Age.
