Monument record TR 26 NE 137 - Early medieval inhumation, Monkton

Summary

A skeleton with a knife and pottery was reportedly found in 1879 'on the line of the cart track joining the A253 to Minster road'. No further details about the discovery of this burial are known and it is uncertain where these finds are now located. It is suspected that the find may represent part of the Jutish cemetery just south of the A253. The exact location of this discovery is uncertain.
