Full Description

TQ 47355651. A medieval site at Combe Bank, discovered in 1966, during 'Operation Gaspipe West' lies in a small open field (OS parcel 3365). The pipe trench cut roughly east-west across the field and it was after the topsoil had been bulldozed that a number of potsherds, an iron knife and a flint foundation were revealed. There was a general absence of roof tile and building stone. The flint foundation clearly forms part of the site, but its exact nature is unknown. The pottery found suggests an occupation date in the 13 or 14th centuries. (1)
