Monument record TR 26 SE 2 - Saltmound, Monkton Marshes

Summary

A saltmound is situated in the Monkton Marshes to the West of Coxon's Hill. The monument is thought to have been associated with a medieval salt working site in the area at Chislet (see TR 26 NW 29). The mound is now though to be mainly destroyed as it is under plough and has also been mutilated by silage pit.
