Full Description
A salt-working mound situated by the River Wantsum at TR 25406470: surmounted by pill-box. Surveyed at 1:2500 (For Md salt-working in the Wantsum Channel see TR 26 NW 29). (1) additional bibliography (2)
A saltern mound of medieval date was visible as an earthwork in LIDAR Environment Agency DSM 07-DEC-2017 and remains visible in later aerial imagery. It was mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024. (3)
