Full Description
[TR 252 604] A Romano-British occupation site of unknown nature was discovered during the laying of a water-main from Stourmouth to Adisham in 1960. Chronological evidence extends from the 1st to 4th centuries, though the occupation may not have been continuous. The earliest pottery sherd may date from the mid 1st century. Later occupation is indicated by pottery post-dating the mid 3rd century. (The following sites were also recorded along the course of the water-main:- TR 25 NW 48, 49, 50, 51, 52 and 53; TR 26 SE 15, 16, 17 and 18.) (1)
