A late Bronze Age cremation in a bucket urn was found in April 1936 ina trench for a water main for two new bungalows on the chalk down halfa mile south of the Kingsdown Golf Club House and 30 yards from the edge of the cliff. It was a hole 2' 3" diameter cut 2' 6" into the solid chalk and is now on display in Deal Castle Museum, Stebbing Collection. The site is shown by Stebbing (c) at approx.
