Full Description
(TR 359499 Site to place name only). Flint implements have been found at this site at various times. These include a plano-convex knife found in 1926 (See illustration card no 1.1) and a serrated flake found in 1928 (see illustration card 1.2). They are of neolithic date. In 1927 Mr H Dewey discovered flint flakes, pot-boilers, fragments of pottery and a working floor at a depth of 12 feet from the surface in a brick earth pit immediately north-west of Cold Blow Farm, Ripple. The flint flakes cannot be traced among the Collection in Deal Town Hall, but the same collection included three sherds of pottery each marked 'cold blow' and are neolithic in date and undoubtedly came from this site.
