Monument record TQ 56 SW 6 - Romano-British floor or possible landing place for boats
Summary
A causeway type flooring composed of chalk rubble was found by Meates in the bed of the river at Lower Barn, between Shoreham and Otford. A fragment of Romano-British pottery was embedded in the flooring. The floor has also been interpreted as a possible landing place for boats
