Full Description
TR 34054858. Medieval earthworks, north of Winklandoaks Farm (TR 34024838), in a pasture field are distubances which are known locally as 'one of Caesar's Camps' and described by the V.C.H. as 'considerable remains of what appear to have been military works. (see illustration card). They are in poor condition, consisting of ridges and broken banks, or mounds, and cover about half an acre of land. Information from Rev E A Dowman. Thses are in fact building sites and remains of enclosures and almost certainly mark the site of the pre-dissolution demesne house and offices. Surveyed at 1:2500. (1) additional references (2-3)
