Full Description
Large ring ditches at TR 32234700 'with attached linear feature', and TR 32284690: other splodges, possibly ring ditches, in the area. (1) TR 322470. A ring-ditch about 20 metres in diameter, apparently the remains of a round barrow was noted in 1974 by members of the Dover Archaeological Group. It is located on the top of a chalk ridge some 80 metres north-east of the of the west Langdon crossroad, on arable land, showing up as a darker ring in the chalky soil 'representing theinfilled ditch of the barrow'. It is joined on its north-west side bya straight ditch some 35m in length. There is no evidence of a mound within the ditched area. Ploughing within this area, in 1972, produced some animal bones.
