Full Description

TR 303453. Two features were recorded in the face of an old chalk pit on Whitfield Recreation Ground, by the Dover Archaeological group; a U-shaped ditch or gully and a shallow U-shaped ditch or pit; pottery and pot-boilers from the former feature may indicate an Iron Age date. (1-2) A further U shaped ditch was discovered of Iron Age date. (3)
