Full Description

A LBA Picardy-type pin, 6.5 inches long was found at a depth of about 18" in a garden on the south Foreland Estate, St Margarets-at-Cliffe, in 1938. It is on display in Dover Museum, accession number DA/1 1221, and was given by Mr G H Allen, 2 Lynn Cottages, St Margarets-at-Cliffe (d). Mr Allen left the district prior to 1950 and could not be traced. Themuseum could offer no further information concerning the circumstancesof the discovery or exact findspot. (1)
