Full Description
One large and four smaller socketed axes, part of a sword, a quantity of broken bronze implements and metal lumps were found at Dover (site unknown) and presented to the museum. The sword consists of a few inches of the blade and the tang which has five holes for rivetting a handle to it. (1) No further information was obtained to site this hoard, but the axes and the sword appear to be in a collection exhibited in Dover Museum. They are inadequately labelled, having been recovered after the museum had been partly destroyed during the war. (2)
