Pottery, animal bones, a bronze fragment and tiles bearing the stamp CLBR (Classis Britannica) was reported by E.G.H. Amos at Market Square opposite the bank in 1915-19. (1) One tile has the stamp complete, another the first letter only and on its edge the numeral IV. (2)

In total 45 tiles have been noted from Dover at scattered periods of time going back to 1778. (3-4)
