Full Description

Mr E.G.J. Amos reports that fragments of Roman tile, tufa and pottery were found in made ground resting on virgin clay which had been cut away in building at 15 High Street, formerly 8 St. Martin's Terrace, Dover, in November 1921. (1)

Fragments of Roman Dolia were also recovered from cable excavations undertaken at St Martins Terrace/High Street, Dover in 1931, these were donated to Dover Museum where they are still located. (2)
