(TR 3241)(sited to place name only) Medieval and post medieval finds from Dover. Three coins, a token and 150 assorted sherds ranging from 14th century brown-glazed ware to Victorian pottery bearing the name "Payn's York Hotel" were found in a trench 20ft deep at the site of a proposed sports centre at Dover. (1) A large wall 4ft 6ins wide and 9ft deep built of chalk blocks, flint and Caen stone, running approximately north-south, was also found. The wall is believed to be of fifteenth century, or possibly earlier, construction. (2)
