Full Description
(TR 31964141)(Sited to locality only). Market Hall. A rescue excavation took place on the site of the market hall on the south side of Market Square in 1982. The market hall was built in 1845, severely damaged during the Second World War and partially rebuilt in 1947. a section of the foundations of the original Market hall were uncovered during excavations undertaken by Kent Archaeological Rescue Unit at the site between 1982-1985.
