Monument record TR 35 SE 20 - Early Medieval Inhumation, Redsull Avenue, Deal
Summary
A grave with a male skeleton, orientated south west-north east, was found in 1939 at a depth of 5ft. during the excavtion of an air-raid shelter in the garden of 7 Redsull Avenue, Mill Hill, Deal. The burial presupposes that of a Jute, but as no associated objects were found. This isolated grave is probably associated with an Anglo-Saxon cemetery. The site lies on the upper slope of Mill Hill ridge, facing north-east. OD 20-25m.
