Full Description
A Palaeolithic handaxe was found in brickearth at a depth of approximately 2 feet below the ground surface at the south-western boundary of his garden at 39 Manor Road, Deal, by A. Kuah (1, 2). The handaxe measured 98 x 56 x 22 mm and weighed 96g, see illustration card. It was pointed (with a broken tip), bifacially flaked, made of grey flint, and had an even ochre-brown patina.
