Full Description
A plated coin of Verus was found near Eastry. (1) An ancient plated coin, brass, covered with a thin lamina of gold, found between Sandwich and Eastry, was exhibited by Mr Rolfe at the Association meeting in June 1848. "Around a head, which appears to be a copy of that on some imperial Roman coin, is inscribed, VERVS IMP C. The reverse bears the figure of a horseman with spear." (2)
