Monument record TR 35 SW 26 - Roman Burials

Summary

Second century AD burials were discovered when the miners cottages were being built at the angle of the road leading to Betteshanger Colliery, at TR 33635314. Plans held by the Surveyors Office at the colliery show that these cottages were built in 1926-7 and were the first to be erected. Nothing is known about the burials either at the colliery or at the Dover offices of the NCB.
