Full Description
TR 335 526 to TR 308 558 In a survey of the Thanet Water Board's pipeline from Poison Cross to Mongeham the Dover Archaeological Group recorded the following features: 1) Near Broad Lane, Betteshanger, a shallow ditch containing medieval sherds. 2) A little further on a shallow pit containing a child's skull of unknown date. 3) The road near Marley Lane, Finglesham, shown as Saxon on the OS map. Its dimensions were recorded. 3) Between the Betteshanger/Ham and Ham/Eastry roads, three U-shaped ditches from which medieval sherds were recovered. A probable Iron Agesherd was recovered from the easternmost ditch. (1) (Similar summary to that of authority 1). (2)
