[TR 37776776] ROMANO-BRITISH BURIAL GROUND [R] Roman Cinerary Urns, Pottery and Bronze Broches found AD 1909. (1,2)

At Rumfields, St Peter's c. 1900-09 pottery, mostly C1st and C2nd AD, was found during brickearth operations. Some was associated with burials. Two 1st c. bronze brooches, two small bronze necklets, and a necklet of bronze wire, were also found. (3)

On exhibition in Broadstairs Public Library, property of Broadstairs Historical Society, is some C2nd pottery from this site, comprising a flagon of buff ware and a pot, beaker and dish of grey ware; the present whereabouts of the jewellery is not known. The brickfield is now disused and mostly laid down as a playing field. (5)

St Peter's. Skeletons with pottery showing strong late Celtic influence, but of the C1st and C2nd AD, and Samian ware, with two C1st brooches, were found in brickfields at Rumfields between 1898 and 1908. (6)
