Summary
Walled gardens, ornamental wilderness and landscape park to Godmersham Park House. The gardens were first laid out in 1727 by Thomas Brodnax-May-Knight with improvements made throughout the 18th and early 19th century. The walled gardens were redeveloped from 1935 by Norah Lindsay for Robert Tritton and contain ornamental gardens, a logga, herbaceous borders and a topiary garden. The park had been established by 1742 with late 18th century planting and comprises open parkland, planted with scattered trees, with woodland on the higher ground.
