Monument record TR 35 NW 803 - Site of Roman Road

A possible length of Roman road and ditch visible as a cropmark and mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Richborough Environs Project.

The cropmark remains of a possible length of Roman road aligned NNE-SSW between TR 3018 5755 and TR 3025 5773. It was visible as a positive feature (possibly an agger) with traces of a side ditch on either side and could be traced for 192m. A ditch of c.64m in length extends at a perpendicular from its western side.

These features were mapped at 1:2500 scale from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Richborough Environs Project. (1)
