The following text is from the original listed building designation:
1. 5272 CHARING TILE LODGE ROAD Burleigh Farm Cottages TQ 94 NW 10/62 14.2.67 II 2. The original Burleigh Farmhouse. C15 timber-framed building with plaster and painted brick infilling. Three bay hall with C17 wing. The first floor of the end window bays originally oversailed on the protruding ends of the floor joists and brackets, but the north-west one has been cut away. The eaves between overhang on a curved brace and bracket. Hipped tiled roof. Two casement windows. Original door arch. The frame of the original hall window is intact. Crown post roof.

Formerly an open 2-bay hall of a Wealden house now flanked by a 17th century service end and a post 1975 upper end. There is evidence for an upper end contemporary with the hall. (2)
