Monument record TQ 66 NE 202 - The cropmark of a two possible conjoined Bronze Age ring ditches are visible on aerial photographs to the west of Cuxton
Summary
The cropmark of two possible conjoined Bronze Age ring ditches are visible on HE Reconnaissance aerial photographs taken on 23rd June 2008. This is to the west of Cuxton at TQ 6965 6648. The ditches form a keyhole like cropmark, with the larger of the two ring ditches to the northeast. Compaction of what was possibly part of a barrow mound is visible from negative cropmarks along with chalk visible within the tramlines inside of the ring ditches. The ring ditches are also situated on top of a ridge alongside what appears to be a former watercourse to the northwest.
