Full Description
D11 Hope Farm, Capel was a Second World War Heavy Anti-Aircraft battery. It is visible on aerial photos of 1946. It consisted of four heavy gun emplacements in an arc from the southwest to the northeast of the site with a control bunker in the centre. To the northwest there were a series of buildings, comprising the camp, accommodation and other structures for the crews. There were some additional buildings to the northeast at some distance from the camp and battery but within the site's perimeter. Elements of the site show as cropmarks in later photos, particularly the site's eastern boundary and the gun emplacements.
