Summary

Roman vases, a Samian patera, an Upchurch vase and an indented beaker of black Renish ware, were found under the Granville Hotel, Ramsgate. A Denarius of Marcus Aurelius and one of Faustina the Elder were also found at this site; these are now in Canterbury Museum. Much of the pottery was on display in Ramsgate Public Library. [TR 38766518] Roman Coins and Pottery found (NAT) (1) Several Roman vases were found under the Granville Hotel, Ramsgate. (2) Denarius of Marcus Aurelius and one of Faustina the Elder now in Canterbury Museum. Accession Nos. 1961 and 1965 (a). (3) On display in Ramsgate Public Library are a Samian patera, an Upchurch vase and an indented beaker of black Renish ware, all from the Granville Hotel site. There is no record of recent finds. (4)
