Charted as NARANCO 'entire wreck' in the Marine zone.
Vessel remains:
Lies in position 50°56.99N, 001°08.55E at a depth of 18.2m in a general depth of 28m.
Sonar dimensions: 75 x 12 x 11.2m. Orientation 50°.
'Intact, standing 12m proud.' (2, comment JL 2007)
'She now lies at 50 56.01N, 001 08.37E in 30m, and is reasonably intact.'
Documentary evidence:
'This small Spanish steamer of 984 tons was built... in Northern Spain... She was on her way, in thick fog... when she
was in a collision with the mv GOLDSTONE. [She] sank in minutes, but there were 20 survivors.'
'Sank 6 miles from Dungeness.'
Source 5 names the vessel with whom she collided as the GLADSTONE, but this is believed to be an error. All other
sources name the other vessel as the GOLDSTONE.
