Summary

Intact wreck of a Norwegian cargo coaster which foundered following a collision with another vessel, approximately 13.6miles NE of the East Goodwin light ship. She had been en route from Duala to Svendborg with a cargo of logs. Built of steel in Belgium in 1956, she was an engine driven vessel.

Full Description

Charted as HOEGH AIGRETTE, 'entire wreck' in the Marine zone. A dangerous wreck.
Vessel remains:
Lies in position 51°17.80N, 001°53.84E, at a depth of 23m in a general depth of 35m.
Sonar dimensions: 112 x 28 x 11.4m. Orientation: 34°. Debris over 210m.
A 1998 examination revealed her to be 'in one piece with a small area of scattered debris at the northern end. A large
magnetic anomaly and surrounded by buoyed fishing nets, with several small craft noted in the vicinity,' (1, 22.7.98)
A 2007 examination revealed that she was still 'Intact, on port side. Lying across the sand wave.' (1, 30.07.07)
