Monument record TR 36 NE 37 - Roman urns and fibulae, found at Victoria Crescent, Ramsgate

Summary

Roman urns and fibulae were discovered in the garden of a house in Victoria Crescent in 1847. This was near the South Eastern Railway Terminus which at the time was at the junction of Margate Road and Station Approach Raod. One of the fibulae was of diamond shape and enamelled on the entire surface with red and green chequers. The location of Victoria Crescent as it was at the time is not now known.
