Roman urns and fibulae were found in the garden of Mr D Hooper, Victoria Crescent, Ramsgate, near the railway terminus. (1) [TR 37756550] approx. (2) Old directories and local enquires failed to establish the site of Hooper's house. (3) TR 377655. Roman coins were discovered in the garden of a house in Victoria Crescent in 1847 near the South Eastern Railway Terminus which at the time was at the junction of Margate Road and Station Approach Raod. The finds consisted of Roman urns and fibulae, one of which was of diamond shape and enamelled on the entire surface with red and green chequers. The location of Victoria Crescent as it was at the time of the finds is not now known. (4) Brief comment, see authority 4 for details. (5)
