Charted as NANCY MORAN, 'partial wreck' in the Marine zone.
Vessel structure:
Lies in position 51°09.64N, 001°27.64E at a depth of 20.7m in a general depth of 24m.
Sonar dimensions: 60 x 15m. Orientation: 160°. Scour depth: 1m.
'Possibly broken up.'
She was dispersed to 45ft below mean low water in 1949, after which she protruded above the seabed some 10ft. (1,
6.7.49 and 12.12.49 respectively)
She was last located, though not examined in her current position on October 2000. (1, 23.10.00)
Documentary evidence:
'This American tug was towing a barge named TETEM TWO to London, when she was involved in a collision causing
her to founder. The barge survived.'
Source 3 describes her involvement in the rescue operation of the tanker SS PLATTSBURG SOCONY which had
been in a collision and caught fire with 600 tons of aviation fuel on board on January 21st 1944 off the West coast of
the Orkneys.

Sources 5 and 7 state that she was built of wood, while source 2 gives her material of construction as steel. If correct,
her builder as given by source 6 suggests that she was a steel vessel. Ownership: 1912 - Built as the PERTH
AMBOY and registered to Leigh Valley Railroad Company who re-named her AUBURN.
1936 - Sold to the Interports Transportation Corporation and re-named the NANCY MORAN.
