1970 wreck of a British motorised yacht which foundered approximately 3 miles SE of the East Goodwin Light Vessel when her propeller shaft broke off and holed the hull while en route from Leigh-on-Sea to Calais. She was a wooden leisure craft.

Full Description
No located in charted position of 51°10.10N, 001°39.50E [OSGB] during 1971 sweep of area, or by multi-beam and
magnetometer survey in 2007. Position has been amended to DEAD by UK Hydrographic Office.
'The propeller shaft of this yacht's auxiliary engine snapped and flailed its way through the hull. The only crew member
aboard... was saved by the German vessel TANJA.'
Nothing is known of the vessel except that she was wood-built, had sail with auxiliary, and was owned by the man, J
MacLeod, on board at the time of her loss. No further information about the vessel could be found.
