Two Romano-British burials found in the garden of Conyngham Lodge on the East Cliff, Ramsgate. The graves each contained the skeleton of a child and an Upchurch vase. Full Description

Two graves, each containing the skeleton of a child and an Upchurch vase, were found in the garden of Conyngham Lodge on the East Cliff, Ramsgate. (1) These may be an extension of the cemetery at Dumpton [TR 36 NE 14]. (2) Some items from the East Cliff are on exhibition in Ramsgate Public Library (qv TR 36 NE 35) but this site is not mentioned specifically. Conyngham Lodge could not be identified. Additional reference (3-4) Possibly it has been confiused with Eastcliffe Lodge which is located c.300m to the east of Dumpton Park. (location estimated from sources)
