Full Description

[TR 36186517] Cropmark of large sub-circular enclosure. (1) Situated just below the crest of the chalk Thanet ridge but under corn stubble: nothing to be seen. The enclosure falls in an area of early occupation from Bronze Age to Saxon. (2) TR 36176533. Cropmark of circular enclosure with entrance on east side. (3) The cropmark traces of an incomplete ring ditch, possibly a Bronze Age round barrow which could be the site described above could be seen at TR 3678 6524. The site now lies beneath the housing estate of Nethercourt. The site was visible on aerial photographs amongst the fragmented remains of rectilinear enclosures and was mapped as part of the Historic England: Ramsgate HAZ project. (4)
