Thanet Reach Business Park Development: Archaeological Implications. Desk based assessment [5].

Cropmarks of a multi-phase site of fragmented rectilinar and sub-rectilinear enclosures of uncertain date from at least three separate phases visible on aerial photographs: CUCAP BTG84 26-JUN-1975 and NMR 1661/297 16-JUL-1979 mapped as part of the Historic England Thanet Landscape Mapping Project 2024. Within these are the possible remains of a banjo-type enclosure with part of an oval ditched enclsoure and traces of a possible funnel entrance to the SW.
The location of a medieval manor house is also noted in the vicinity, but its exact location is unknown. It is possible that some of these features such as an incomplete rectilinear enclosure 42m across at TR 3695 6885 which has a broad ditch and curved corners.(6-7)
