Full Description

TR 355675. Cropmarks of Barrows, pits and possibly graves. A large circular ditch enclosure is identifiable as a cropmark on the west facing slope of the valley. Field walking observation reveals that at least some vestige of a central mount survives. There is a ring ditch within the larger barrow and ring ditches of smaller diameter together with what may be graves appear on the crest of the slope to the east. This is presumably a large Bronze Age barrow with associated Anglo-Saxon burials. Worked flint fragments and scrapers can often be found after ploughing in the area, particularly along theline of the valley crest. (1) Aerial photograph (2)
